Advantages of The Quran Recitation:

The Quran recitation is an integral part of the life of a good Muslim. Most of the practicing Muslims recite the Quran on regular basis. This is a very nice act, which must be appreciated by all, especially their fellow beings.  However, some Muslims think that the Quran recitation cannot be effective if they do not know the meanings of what they are reciting. Nevertheless, this is a misconception.
Actually, the Quran recitation offers many advantages and benefits. Anyone who recites the Quran regularly is guaranteed to avail these advantages and benefits in this world and in the hereafter. Some of the most significant advantages of the Quran recitation are given below. A Muslim should always keep the following in the mind.

• Spiritual cleansing

The Quran recitation is essentially a source of spiritual cleansing. These are the words of Allah Almighty, revealed by Angel Jibril to our Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). How is it possible that the person who recites these divine words is not spiritually cleansed? In the Quran, there is a declared difference in the reward for the people who do the Quran recitation and the people who are non-believers.
Allah Almighty says in the Quran, "And when you recite the Quran, We place between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter a hidden barrier". Al-Isra [17:45]

• The virtues for the hereafter

Our Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) told that the Quran recitation is a source of many virtues. He said,"Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that "Alif, Laam, Meem" is a letter, rather I am saying that "Alif" is a letter, "Laam" is a letter and "Meem" is a letter." (Al-Tirmidhi)
Therefore, the Quran recitation is necessary to gain abundant virtues.

• The company of the angels and the noble beings

The person who does the Quran recitation will dwell in the company of the obedient Angels and the noble human beings. Our beloved Holy prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) told it to us.
Ayesha Siddiqa (R.A.), the beloved and pious wife of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) narrated the Hadees, which is as follows. "The one who recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels." (Bukhaari and Muslim)
This Hadees also tells that the Quran recitation should be done beautifully. It is also depicted in the following Hadees. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w)said, "Adorn and decorate the (Holy) Quran with your (good) voice."
